concept (aug 2008)

Daniel Lopez and Xavier Moulin sensitize today's children to ecological issues using educational and artistic tools. Together with the Chinen primary and middle school they invent a waste exhibtion on the beach: What is trash and how does waste separation work?
Waste and art exemplified as waste-art and a waste workshop. They will compile a map of the waste spots in Nanjo and list everything found in a catalogue. The whole process will be reported on film and foto and exhibited in the tourist office Nanjo.   

artist bio

Daniel Lopez was born in swiss. In 1995 he started to travel all Europe and later Asia doing foto and media activities. He's living on Okinawa since 2003, currently attending classes at Art University.
Xavier Moulin was born in France and graduated from the Paris Design University in 1995. From 1994 until 1999 he worked as art director for Cibic and Partner in Milan and found the Ixi Experimental Network in 1999. In 2000 he was adwarded the Villa Kujoyama Kyoto scholarship and found the Okinawa Design Center in 2005.
